On International Women's Day 2000,
waged & unwaged women in 64 countries joined the first-ever Global Strike, called & co-ordinated by the
International Wages for Housework Campaign.

UGANDA, women of Kaabong Women's group on strike discussing their  demands.

    In villages & cities, women and girls went on Strike.  In Africa women demanded ownership of land, the recognition of 'precious mothers' & paid breastfeeding time.  Women in Ireland demanded an annual paid holiday.  Most countries haven't sent photos, but here are some we have received.  Payday Men's Network co-ordinated men's support – childcare, cooking and other work.
