Join Women in 60 countries for the

9th Global women’s Strike

International Women’s Day, March 8, 2008

Join us for lunch and a Town Hall meeting!

Fund Caregiving Not War & Occupation

Saturday, March 8, 1:30pm

Southern California Library, 6120 S. Vermont, LA 90044

Women around the world struggle to reclaim the money and other resources spent on war and occupation. Worldwide, war and occupation are prioritized over caring for people & the environment. Women are the first caregivers. Families and communities depend on this work for well-being and even survival. Unless we get the US government to pay for caring instead of for weapons, we will never stop the killing. At the Town Hall, women will share our struggles and our victories, & work out how we can support each other, overcoming divisions among us.

Hear from * relative caregivers * women fighting to get their children back * former prisoners * grandmothers caring for grandchildren * young mothers claiming their right to welfare & to higher education * Indigenous and immigrant women * sex workers * mothers * war vets and their caregivers * low waged workers * artists * teachers * nurses & more.
