Women's Day Statement of the Victoria Status of Women Action Group
(Victoria-BC, Coast Salish Territory) The Status of Women Action Group are addressing this letter to everyone who benefits in a monetary way from violence against women. This includes those who are living off grants to study violence against women. This includes those who draw a salary or who are reimbursed in any form as a result of violence against women. This includes movie makers, artists, social workers, case managers, bureaucrats, researchers, doctors, those in the psychiatric field, women who have adopted children apprehended by the state, shelter workers and so on. If you are indeed committed to ending violence against women, please put your money where your mouth is and support Guaranteed Livable Income.
No more services, no more welfare, no more poverty no more violence, no more spiritual abuse. No more MANagement of women. No more sick and enslaved women peering at us from every imaginable media, naked and humiliated and being sexually abused in a way staged to suggest that sexual violence has no victim. Women do not need any more victim survivor camps. There must be a recognition that transition houses and shelters are a make work project for social service providers. BC's nasty little cottage industry: The battered women business.
Women want freedom from sexual slavery and exploitation made possible by their poverty. A poverty created by every man in this country who benefits from it! Address the problem at the source. And don't worry, if you lose your job on account of there being no victims to be found, you will be guaranteed an income. Support G.L.I., support the Global Women’s Strike, Invest in Caring not Killing, (www.globalwomenstrike.net) and end slavery! Disregard this at the peril of all.
