BRIAN HAW MUST STAY Brian has been campaigning in Parliament Square 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for five years, demanding "an end to perpetual genocide, and . . . that UK/USA stop the sanctions, bombings & occupations of Afghanistan & Iraq"; highlighting their effect on children first of all. In August 2005 the government‘s Serious Organised Crime and Police Act banned all protest without police permission, within a kilometre of Parliament. Brian defended in court our right to bear witness where decisions that affect the lives of millions are taken when we are not present and against our will. The court decided that the Act did not apply to his demonstration. On 8 May 2006 the Court of Appeal overturned this. Brian is now threatened with eviction. We the undersigned demand that this unjust law is revoked and that Brian and everyone have the right to stay and protest in Parliament Square. Parliament Square belongs to all in the UK.
