CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

In Saraipali block thousands of women gathered, shouted slogans and did a procession and rally to the sub divisional magistrates office and put forward their demands for consideration. And pressure their willingness to join hands with global strike. Their demands were as follows.

1. Compensation for loss due to heavy rain and flood.
2. To add names in the list of below poverty lines whose names where not included.
3. Land rights and entitlement rights. And legal documents for landless.
4. Employment should be given in the village to stop migration.
5. Violence against women in workplace and home should be stopped and appropriate action must be taken against culprits.
6. Social security scheme should be given to single, widows and divorced women; old aged pension to all old men and women.
7. Women’s leadership must be promoted. And allow them to exercise their power in local self government (Gram Panchayat)
8. Women are losing their jobs due to male domination.
9. Equal wage for equal work must be given to all women.
10. Stop alcohol, stop wife beating and stop discrimination against woman.
