Reserve Your Seat on the Welfare Warriors Photo Bus Tour of Bloated Big Business

On Saturday March 9, 2002,  to celebrate the 3rd Annual Global Women’s Strike, Welfare Warriors is organizing a Photo Bus Tour, modeled after last years successful Photo Bus Tour of the Bloated Welfare Empire.  This years’ tour will investigate and expose the Bloated BIG Business Empire that keeps too many Americans (and people in other countries) living in poverty.

The Bloated Big Business Bus Tour will expose the relationship between poor moms who are forced by welfare reform to take any job, anywhere, at any wage, and the corporations who benefit from this glut of low-wage labor.

We will show the victims of poverty how big business keeps their workers in poverty while making huge profits off of their labor. We will  use the information gathered from the Bloated Big Business Bus Tour to impact welfare reauthorization this year.

We will  show  the contrast between the profits of the fat-cat corporations and the miserable wages, hours and benefits of their workers. We will show how small local businesses are being forced into extinction by corporate wealth and influence and urge all Americans to BOYCOTT BIG BUSINESS, BUY SMALL.

Stops on the Bloated Big Business Bus Tour will include:

  • Walgreens

  • Walmart

  • Taco Bell

  • Beverly Enterprises Nursing Home

  • Children’s World Daycare

  • Manpower Temporary Agency and

  • Milwaukee Medical Center.

The Tour will leave at 11 AM from the Welfare Warriors Mothers Organizing Center at 2711 W. Michigan in Milwaukee and return by 2:30.  We urge all activists and supporters to join us on the tour.  To reserve a seat, call 414-342-6662.   The Tour is free.  Lunch provided.  Donations gladly accepted.
