Over sixty women attended a grassroots women’s Open house and
Speakout at the home/office of the National Union of Domestic Employees
(NUDE) in Port of Spain. Organisers were delighted by the great response
and were overwhelmed by the number of women who came. "The house was
full - luckily we rented a tent for outside and the tent was packed."

From
the Strike Programme:
The
Global Women`s Strike on 8th March, International Women`s Day,
is women`s response to globalization. We act together as women across
National Boundaries to prioritize caring work and press for what must be
“a millennium which values all women`s work and all women`s lives”,
and therefore every life, and to oppose no pay, low pay and overwork.
Women and girls in over seventy countries on every continent will take
part in the Global Strike. We act on March 8th to STOP THE
WORLD AND CHANGE IT.
