"People everywhere are demanding a total change of priorities. Women and girls do the work of giving birth to, feeding and caring for the whole world. But this vital work of survival and cornmunity is devalued and those who do it are demeaned" - Wages For Housework Campaign. The International Wages for Housework Campaign have called a global women's strike on March 8th which is International Women's Day, urging women to 'stop the world and change it'. Last year, a Global Strike saw waged and unwaged women from over 60 countries take part in demonstrations, vigils and parties to celebrate Women's Day and develop strategies of resistance.
