URGENT ALERT

Mary Kelly, who took direct action against refuelling warplanes at Shannon airport, Ireland, faces re-trial. Anti-war activist Mary Kelly, who disarmed a US naval plane refuelling at Shannon, a civilian airport on Ireland's west coast, is to face a re-trial on the orders of the Irish Director of Public Prosecutions. She has already been tried for her anti-war activism, and in a major victory for all of us who oppose war and the occupation of Iraq, the jury, while convicting her on a lesser charge of trespass, did not reach a verdict on whether her actions amounted to criminal damage 'without lawful intent'. This was despite direction from the judge to find her guilty. Mary Kelly heard about the re-trial, set for Tuesday, 21st October, only two days ago. She urgently needs support....watch this space for details of how you can help...
