  • Women do 2/3 of the world’s work for 5% of the income. Two-thirds of "women’s work" is unwaged.
  • Welfare ‘Reform’ denies that caring for children is work.
  • Homecare workers in LA County make only &6.75/hr. and receive no health benefits.
  • People with disabilities, especially women, do hard work to survive, yet this is not considered work.
  • Older women don’t retire, they just tire.
  • 85% of garment workers in California are women whose average wages are $7,200/year.
  • Unwaged caregiving in the family, is valued at $200 billion/year.

$800billion/year is spent on military budgets worldwide. Bush wants to spend $60billion more on Star Wars 2.

Join women around the world, demand that society invests in the enrichment of every life rather than enriching a few.

Strike Demands:

  • Payment for all caring work - in wages, pensions, land &other resources.  Pay equity for all, women & men, in the global market.
  • Paid maternity leave, breastfeeding breaks & other benefits–stop penalizing us for being women.
  • Abolish 'Third World debt' which falls heaviest on women & girls.
  • Accessible clean water, healthcare, housing, transport, literacy.  Non-polluting energy & technology which shortens the hours we work. Freedom of movement
  • Protection & asylum from all violence & persecution, including by family members & people in positions of authority.
