Global Women's Strike: make trouble, make history

On 8 March 2002, women across the world will go on strike to highlight the "invisible" contribution women make to the global economy in terms of unpaid and low-paid work.  The strikers will also express their opposition to war and globalisation, which threaten women's lives and the lives of their children,  diverting billions of dollars from vital resources like healthcare.

Lesbian women will also strike for the right to live independently and free from discrimination or violence.  Last year, women from 60 countries, representing every continent, participated in events supporting the strike.

In Britain, the Global Women's Strike is co-ordinated by the Wages for Housework Campaign and Wages Due Lesbians.  To join weekly planning meetings or to find out about events, contact Wages Due Lesbians, Crossroads Women's Centre, PO Box 287, London NW6 7QU.  Tel/minicom: 020 7482 2496.  Email: womenstrike8m@server101.com
