Kaabong Women's Group, Uganda
Kaabong Women's Group have been building a community centre brick by brick and planning a bigger Strike than last year. Activities will be held in the rural area of Kaabong. On Strike day 2000, the women of Kaabong marched in the streets, carrying pots on their heads and babies on their backs, protesting against hard unwaged work and abuse of their rights. No woman was allowed to do any kind of work. |
